A skateboard backpack isn’t just a backpack with a cool logo. Skateboarders typically need a way of storing their beads, tools and standard everyday devices and supplies, without having to constantly be on edge about their belongings getting damaged when tricks don’t go as planned.
A skateboard backpack must also be able to hold your board when you’re on foot.
A backpack suitable for skateboarders, therefore, needs to be highly durable and wear and tear-resistant. It should be functional, practical and comfortable. Just like you would want a dedicated backpack for snowboarding, or for skiing, a dedicated backpack for skateboarding is a must.
This means that the pack shouldn’t shift around too much when you’re on the move, instead sitting comfortably in the optimum position.
The ideal skateboard backpack is therefore one which stays in place comfortably and is made from high quality materials to protect your luggage in case of a tumble.
Backpacks that are stylish and affordable definitely get bonus points, assuming they tick all of the other boxes first.

There’s also a USB charging port so you can charge your phone up on the go. Overall, this is a pretty impressive product and you can store your board quite easily on the front.
The only reason we haven’t ranked the product higher is because it is more of a business/school backpack which can hold a skateboard than a backpack designed especially for skaters.
Penny Slater Pouch Backpack
We’ve included the Penny backpack even though it’s main selling point is the fact it looks awesome.
The product is pretty small compared to the other products on this list but if you travel light when skating, this won’t be a problem. There are still side pockets for your water bottle and a padded sleeve for an iPad.
