What’s up, people? Today I’m going to speak to you a little bit about how it is I try to stay fit.
Most of you guys know I don’t have that much time to go to the gym, because I am always too busy doing other things like going to the stores trying to find rare editions of my favorite mangas or simply because I have better things to do in my modded Minecraft world.
Besides, the gym requires me to be a little bit more social than I usually like to.
How do I do it, then? I wanted to work on my fitness for the longest time but I didn’t want to spend extra hours of my day at it, since I have other things I’d rather do.
It was then that I thought really hard about my daily routines and I realized I was losing on average 30 to 45 minutes going to work every day, by taking the bus. Depending on traffic, weather, etc., this average may at times even be increased.
Solution? Yeah, I bought a running backpack and started running to work. And you’ll be surprised by all the great changes it actually brought to my life.
Let’s take a quick look at some of the best things about it. Maybe you’ll decide to also pick it up and I’ll have yet another reason to feel great about it because I helped to also improve your life.
Getting Healthy
It’s by far the most important benefit. Running to work will increase your stamina. By performing cardio-vascular training on a daily basis you will gradually see substantial improvements in your overall fitness and performance.
You will day by day become stronger, faster and in general, you will start to feel better and better about yourself. It’s just like that.
Save Money
No more gas money, daily subway fare, train ticket, or whatever, when you decide it’s best to go running to work. It doesn’t matter if you typically spend $1 or $50 to go to work on a daily basis, and it doesn’t matter if you think it’s something you can easily afford.
Any saved money is good money because it’s money you can use to buy other things which can give you more satisfaction. Like a miniature figure of a Jedi Trooper riding a dragon, for example.
No More Stress
Sure, it may be more comfortable to go to the psychiatrist or to the psychologist. But you can make a great contribution to your mental health by just doing sports. Running, in particular, is considered to be a great way to keep a clear head. And also, you end up saving on the appointment fees, which is directly connected to the previous point.
Meet people
Don’t be so surprised. There’s a lot of people who already made the choice of running to work. You’d be surprised to find that in your area there’s probably already a local group, even. And if there’s not, why not think about starting a local group yourself? It’s a great way to meet people, and in group people can incentive each other to help stay motivated.
Go Green
You probably didn’t think of this, but it’s a really important one. By choosing to run to work you are helping to make the world a greener place, and giving great help to the environment.
If more and more people made the same choice, it could have a significant impact on reducing pollution in our cities.
Break Your Limits
When you start running on a regular basis your limits start to increase. Gradually, you will run for longer distances and longer times. You will eventually notice how this has a great impact on other aspects of your life.
At work, even, you will feel more capable and less tired, odd as it seems. Because you will experience the satisfaction of breaking your limits. And you will feel great!
Sex. Yes, You Heard Me! Sex!
It’s directly connected to the first point in this list. Your health improves, so does your sex life. If nothing else, because you will feel more confident about yourself, and more pungent too. Let’s just say that by running to work you make sure your body keeps that constant and steady flow of oxygen going. There has to be a way to give some use to it, right?
Sleep like a Baby
It’s no secret. Sports are great against insomnia. Running, again, is particularly effective in this. No more long nights turning around in the bed, searching for ways to fall asleep. Just join the people who are already running to work and sleep peacefully as they do. Ask anyone who is already doing it!
Make Your Party
Why not? Put your headphones on, hit the volume up and let the music flow through you. It’s an amazing feeling, much like dancing. Just let yourself go. Choose a song that gives you a jump boost and let it guide in your track. You will be sorry when the music comes to an end, I assure you.
Make Your Friends Jealous
You’ll best experience this around the summer when you are all at the beach. Your friends will not only be impressed by the fitness you have achieved, but they will also be jealous of not having achieved that same level of fitness. Guarantee you. Use it to make fun of them, of course!
More benefits of running to work
There’s much more that we didn’t say like you won’t have to talk to strangers on the train or share your seat with that very dear old lady who constantly forgets to shower or what a deodorant is.
Now, I know what you are thinking; it’s still better to play video games than going to run. But that’s what makes running to work a great option. You would still have to lose that time every day anyway, so might as well gain as much as you can from it. And by running to work, you gain a lot. You will certainly feel great. I know I do!
