Now that you’ve decided to embrace running to work, you realized it’s not entirely like your normal going out for a jog, didn’t you? You’re going to be working for the rest of the day and you need a fitting outfit for it.
It becomes quite obvious the sweaty clothes you are left with after you took your time running to work are not going to cut it throughout the day, as they are not going to help you impress clients.
You will need an extra set of clean, professional clothes. I mean, it’s not like you’re Superman and can just enter a phone booth and switch in a flash.
Obviously, the solution is to carry an extra set of clothes with you so that you can change into something clean and tidy once you get to work, after all the running. And to carry this extra set of clothes what do you need? Exactly, a running backpack.
A state of the art, an ultra-light running backpack that you can use to go running to work and preferably, one that does the job effectively. Right?
Choose wisely, features matter!
Different jobs have different needs. If you are a lawyer you will need your case files, which should probably be impeccably preserved. If you are a diva, you will need your wig.
Perhaps more than one. If you are a werewolf hunter you will need your gun with silver bullets and possibly some seriously needed help.
My point is it’s a mistake to think one size fits all. And it’s advisable to check what you will be carrying and try to match your backpack for running with some of those key features.
In my case, I run with my laptop, so I chose a running backpack that was designed having that in consideration. When you make your choice, you should definitely consider doing the same!
Remember these 3 little tips
Straps
Trust me when I say if there is one thing you don’t want happening is having your backpack bouncing and jumping all over your back when you are busy keeping your pace zig-zagging through the ordinary pedestrians. This can be even more irritating if you are carrying a laptop or any similar materials, like me. When choosing your backpack remember to test the straps to see how they adjust to your shape.
Weight
If you’re running, anything you carry with you will feel like an excessive weight. You don’t need a heavy bag to make things even harder on yourself. Choose a backpack that’s light-weight but can still carry a decent load just in case, and make sure it has a good weight distribution. You want to minimize discomfort to the max, and preventing the negative effects weight can play a big role in doing so.
Water-resistant
Seems a little basic, but many people don’t remember this one. If you are going to be running to work throughout the year you will face both sun and storms. Rain, of course, will be a frequent event at times of the year.
A water-resistant backpack ensures your belongings and your outfit stay dry and in shape to get to work.
