Even though you run in order to stay fit and healthy or for pure pleasure, it’s extremely important to have proper knowledge about what should you bring with you in your runaways and how to choose the best backpack for running.
Moreover, from time to time, we all should be involved in a marathon: large organized marathons or set yourself a goal, running 5 miles on a sunny day with a group of friends, make your own marathon. Entertain yourself, unwind and enjoy all the benefits sport brings with it.
Some prefer not to immerse themselves in something which could seem so elaborate and difficult, because they are afraid of unexpected. And here we are to make one possible problem disappear: carrying your belongings. It seems so tricky, running with a heavy backpack, right?
You would like to have some muscle burn, to feel that your journey worth it, but back or knees pain is under no circumstances desired. Can you believe that there are still some possibilities to tackle this situation? Listen carefully!
Train Yourself
If you are not quite minimalistic, just try to be. At least in that case. Don’t carry books, technological devices, unnecessary clothes or too much food.
There is such a bad tendency to fancy around the house and put in your backpack everything you think that you may need. But trust me, you won’t need candles or pillows while running.
It is significant to have with you an emergency kit – injuries should be treated right away – water, an energy bar, some fruits, in case you get hungry and need some more energy, a clean T-shirt and you are ready to go. Those are not heavy or voluminous but are essentials for a marathon.
Choose Wisely
Don’t choose any kind of rucksack, not all of them are suitable for running a marathon. Be more thoughtful and take into consideration that you need the most comfortable, yet practical one.
There’s no need for hurry. Let’s analyze some products and see what’s best. We’ll do that together!
Fabric
Believe or not, the material your backpack has makes a huge difference. You need to forget about back pain, sweat or itching. Pick up a backpack which has an anatomical frame system (it has the look of fishnet on the back of your product), it will allow your skin to breath and you won’t feel discomfort from wearing it.
The fabric should be stretchy, but durable. Take a look at the stitches, they should be strong, but not with such a harsh threat that will cause you injuries when in contact with your skin.
Weight
It’s ideal to choose the lightest backpack you can find (but don’t forget about the other criteria), because you don’t want any extra and unnecessary weight on your shoulders when you run.
A maximum of 500g is more than enough for a good rucksack. You need to carry your water, which is quite heavy, so don’t overweight if it’s not necessary.
Sponge
The softer, the better! You need delicacy when running a marathon, you should concentrate on your movement, not on what you carry, on what you wear. It’s more than important to have attached to your backpack straps filled with a soft sponge. The touch of a cloud should be on your shoulders.
Straps
Don’t choose thinner straps (under no circumstances spaghetti straps!), they will try to become one with you. You’ll have red marks, so painful and uncomfortable. Stick to a thicker strap, which will cover your entire shoulder.
It’s important to have all the weight directed on a larger surface. And don’t forget that stitches should be really fine and delicate with your skin.
Essentials
Water, water, water! Nothing is more important than being hydrated. Don’t stay thirsty, drink water when you need it. It will definitely recharge your batteries.
Another significant thing you must have is your emergency kit. It would be ideal not to use it, but if something happens, even if we talk about a minor cut, you should treat it.
You don’t want any complications, right? Stop for a minute, put on a bandage or take a pill and you are ready to continue your safe journey.
On the run, you may become hungry, but unfortunately, you can’t have the most fulfilling meal there. What about a light sandwich or fruits? An energy bar is also recommended.
In that case, you can step behind the bars and eat a little bit more sugar, because you really need something to boost your energy.
Don’t carry a large pile of clothes with you, a pair of jeans or your favorite suit won’t help. On the same time, you may need a clean T-shirt, because you never know what could happen. Let the unexpected come, because we are prepared!
Have you written down all I said to you? Although it’s more exciting when you do spontaneous activities, try to organize yourself at least a little bit. It’s significant to be prepared in need. You want an unforgettable experience, so don’t rush, take a sit and plan.
Organizing your backpack may sound so boring and irrelevant, but have you ever thought how important it maybe? No back pain, no sweat, no injuries, just unwind, satisfaction, safety.
Make your choices wisely, because they define you. We want to be a part of your achievement, so the best advice are given to you!
Repeat, please!
Let’s be sure we have all we need. A backpack with anatomical frame system, sponge, thicker straps, light in weight. Checked! A bottle of fresh water, some snacks, emergency kit, and clean clothes. Checked!
Ready to go. When do we start our journey?
Remind yourself that your safety is the most important thing in the world. Enjoy your moments, but do it in the safest manner possible. Rushing may put you in danger.
Don’t forget about appropriate clothes and shoes when running a marathon. Put on your sunscreen lotion, a cap and a pair of sunglasses.
Dangers, stay away!
